Flower Care Guide
For Fresh Flower Bouquets:
Keep out of direct sunlight
Keep away from heaters
Change the water daily/clean the vase
Give the stems a fresh 1/4 cut at an angle every day with clean clippers
For Dried Flower Bouquets, Wreaths and garlands (anything Dried):
Keep out of direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause the colors to fade and become brittle.
Keep out of intense heat. Heat can cause them to become brittle as well.
Keep it away from damp and moisture. Moisture can cause mold.
Check on them once in a while, move them if they aren’t liking where they are at.
A fully dried wreath will not last as long outside as it will inside. If you choose to put it on your outside door under a covered porch, it will last for at least the season. There’s a chance it’ll last longer, but no guarantees! Inside, it can last forever if cared for properly.
Storing Dried Flower Bouquets and Wreaths:
If you kept your dried bouquet/wreath inside, but are ready to put it away until the next season, store them in a cardboard box or airtight plastic container. Use tissue around them and in between the wreaths. Store them in a dry place.
If you kept your wreath outside on your door, after a couple of months chances are there are a bit of mold and droopy stems. At this point, you can put the whole thing in the compost. Or, you can keep the vine or willow branch frame and make a new one!
Fresh wreaths/mixed fresh and dry:
They can live inside or under a covered porch. The fresh evergreens need moist cold air to last longer, so if kept inside they will get dry and brittle. However, most evergreens that I use will not fall apart, they will dry! If kept outside the dried flowers will eventually mold. Keep them up as long as they still look great! They can go straight in the compost when you're ready for a new one.
Flower Dyed Cotton Hand Towels/Bandana’s
Dyeing with plants is a beautiful art and an environmentally conscious practice. It's a slow process, usually taking numerous steps and many days to develop the beautiful and earthy colors. Note that slight variations and uneven color are part of the hand-dyed and natural-dyed process, making them that much more unique and earthy. These napkins have been treated to retain color through many washes. Some fading may still occur over time. To best care for this item, use a pH-neutral detergent (like Seventh Generation) as changes in pH may cause colors to shift. Machine-washable and they can go in the dryer, but hand washing and hanging to dry will have better results.
